The proposed 2015-2017 state budget affects the health and well-being of Wisconsin's women and girls in innumerable ways. In order to best explain the proposed budget's impact on women and girls, the Wisconsin Alliance for Women's Health has separated some of the most important budget proposals into different issue areas (listed at right). Many of these issue areas are further broken down into sub-issues to provide more details on specific programs. We have tried to provide as much helpful information as possible for users of this website to best inform themselves about  how the proposed budget changes may affect many of the existing programs upon which so many Wisconsin women and girls rely.

Please take a moment to browse through the issue areas that most interest you, affect your work, or impact you or your family. Many of the sections contain important information about existing programs, such as eligibility criteria. You may even qualify for some of these programs and not even know it! If you think one of the existing programs may be of help to you, your family, or a client, many of the sections have links you can follow to understand the eligibility criteria.

The issue areas also provide important details about how the Governor's proposed budget would affect these existing programs. We will update any issue area as soon as possible to reflect any changes that the Legislature makes to the Governor's proposed budget. We will continue to update all issue areas until they reflect the final budget product that is signed into law by the Governor. Be sure to follow our blog to stay up to date!
