The 1000 Words Project is a collaborative effort between members of the 2015 Madison New Leaders Council and the Wisconsin Alliance for Women's Health.
Using the art of photography; participants will be able to share their own story with a wide audience of Wisconsin residents, expressing how changes to the Wisconsin Budget will affect their lives.

Our goal is to humanize the Wisconsin State Budget by telling true stories of Wisconsin Women. We believe that everyone deserves to have their story heard.

The 1000 Words Project is looking for volunteers to share their personal experience with;
  1. BadgerCare for Childless Adults
  2. Wisconsin Well Woman Program
  3. Long Term Care, such as Family Care or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct)
  4. Child Care Subsidies (Wisconsin Shares)
  5. K-12 Education Funding
  6. UW - System Funding

Participants will first receive a project briefing with the 1000 Words Team. Then will be given creative freedom to capture and express what their day-to-day life is like, and what challenges, benefits, or experiences they have with the Wisconsin State Budget and the above programs. The 1000 Words Team and the Wisconsin Alliance for Women's Health will then collaborate to share the stories and voices of Wisconsin Women.

If you, or anyone you know, would like to participate in this project, please email 1000words.wi@gmail.com
or complete the form to the left.
